The country has had a host of big-name players in the past, including the likes of Freddy Gonzales to Paulino Alcantara.

However, as the end of an era dawns, a new one emerges. This has been the case in Pilipino football, with young bright talents coming up the ranks from the grassroots.

Here are three players considered to be the future of Philippines football.

Inna Palacios plays in the women’s professional league and knows how to make fans drool with her exciting style of play. She plays for Malditas and is the club’s number one. At 25, she still has many more years of professional football left in her and is already at the peak of her career.

She has also been her country’s first-choice number one for the last eight years now and counting.

Azkals Development Team have a gem on their hands in JarveyGayoso. The 23-year-old plays in the Philippines Football League and is filled with a lot of talent and potential. He has been tipped to get a permanent spot at the National team for many years to come given his abilities and talent.

2019 was Alisha’s year literally. At the age of 21, she was already a goal poacher. She plays in a college team and also her National team side and whenever she is called upon, she always delivers the goods.

She helped her side win the UAAP Women’s Football Title for a record-breaking eleventh time. Including a hat-trick, she ended the tournament scoring ten goals. That’s an impressive number for a player of her age.
