Scott Cooper praisesGayoso’s move toMuangthong United

Philippines national team boss Scott Cooper says that he is glad to see Jarvey Gayoso back on the pitch in the Thailand pro league.Gayoso was expected to leave Manila within the next few days. He is expected to sign with Muangthong United, who are one of the top clubs in this part of the world.Muangthong United have been able to pick up four titles in the T1 league, which is the first division in Thailand.

Cooper says thatGayoso will be a perfect fit forMuangthong United and it will increase the chances of playing at a much higher level. The formerAteneo is already one of the crucial players for Philippines and he has picked up two UAAP MVPs so far.

Cooper, unsurprisingly, has a lot of connections with Muang thong as he is a former head coach of the club.Gayoso will be playing as a midfielder forMuangthong after having been used to playing in multiple positions so far in his career. The 23-year-old has previously represented ADT in multiple positions for the 2020 Philippines football league and he has been able to get four goals in the process. Cooper says that there are still more to expect fromGayoso and the switch to Muangthong will only help him in his career.Gayoso will also be accompanied by Philippines defender Daisuke Sato for the rest of the T1 campaign.

I think it’s a great step up for him to go to the Thai League. He’s being picked up as a midfielder which was where he ended up in his stint at ADT. I think we finally found the right position for him. It’s really a good challenge for him because he has to step up a few levels. It’s not over the line yet, but it’s close and it’s an excellent move for him,” said Cooper.
